Kachale encouraged stakeholders to actively participate, share their valuable perspectives, raise concerns, and contribute to the collective endeavor of strengthening the electoral processes.

He added the commission is open to more feedback from stakeholders and would be happy to hear from them on areas requiring improvement.

“To ensure that democratic processes remain transparent, accountable and can fully reflect the will of people as the Electoral Commission commemorates thirty years of delivering multiparty elections in the country,”he said.

Kachale then applauded government on the financial support towards MEC preparations and activities in regard to the 2025 general election, as all the money that was requested according to their budget in the financial year (2023/2024) was fully funded to the Commission.

In his remarks, Emmanuel Soko, Police Commissioner for Central Region emphasized on the importance of police officers in providing maximum security in the process of registration, voting, as well as providing security when transporting electoral results.

District Commissioner for Lilongwe, Lawford Palani,  applauded MEC for the engagement saying  the meeting gave them insight on new electoral laws, enabling them to prepare better for the 2025 general elections.

The 2025 general elections will be conducted on September 16.
